Verdict: Great sound, well built, filters make small but noticeable changes.
T10:
Best for In-ear design
Most music apps and players have a graphic equaliser that allows you to adjust the sonics coming out of the speakers, but it’s an artificial effect that can degrade the overall sound. Better is to choose headphones that give you the audio effect you want — or, if you’re unsure, can be tweaked after purchase.
The T10s come with three filters that enhance the treble or the bass, or produce a neutral, “reference” sound. As earbuds go, these are large and, made from stainless steel, are quite heavy at 39g. But they stay put thanks to flexible hoops that hook over your ears and a choice of 10 interchangeable tips of different shapes and materials.
The filters are tiny drums a few millimetres wide that can be screwed in and out of the end of each earphone. The two spares are kept safe in the supplied carry case, should you want to swap them on the move — but that’s not recommended, as it’s fiddly. Ideally, try all three filters at home and then stick with one. The bass filter does indeed make the sound richer; treble could be sparklier; reference is well balanced. Music sounds punchy and tight whichever you opt for.
Verdict: Great sound, well built, filters make small but noticeable changes.
